A Lifetime of Fishing Experience
Sexy Loops Fly Fishing's Captain Shaun began guiding in Rockport many years ago. But balancing the guide life and a thriving business away from The Coast proved to be a bit tough. So Capt. Shaun stepped away for a few years to grow the family business in the Hill Country. Years later, Capt. Shaun has sold the business to his kids in search of saltier air and a few redfish. Capt. Shaun and his wife now call Rockport, Texas home and he is back in the boat full time.
Hi, I'm Captain Shaun Daniels. I was born in Sumter South Carolina, and that's where I spent the first few years of my life. It's there that I got my start on fishing at the very young age of 2—on the Santee Cooper Reservoir.

My dad was in the U.S. Air Force, so we moved around a lot and got to live in several pretty cool places around the world, including Okinawa Japan. With every move we made, I am pretty sure the very first thing you would find me doing in our new town would be scouting and fishing the local creeks, lakes, or golf course ponds looking for fish.

Dad retired in 1979 to what was then, a small central Texas town of San Marcos, and it was there that I started my freshman year in high school. I got my first taste of Texas coastal fishing around the Rockport and Port Aransas areas in the early 1980's. I suppose the salt got into my blood, because I never looked back after discovering all that the Texas coast has to offer.

Since those early years, I've been blessed with being able to fish nearly every bay system along the Texas coast. My experience stretches to Louisiana for redfish, Florida for Tarpon, Northern Wisconsin for muskie & pike, & Colorado for trout—just to mention a few.

When my fly fishing addiction took over, I found myself traveling throughout Mexico and even venturing to Turneffe Atoll in Belize, fishing for snook, permit, bonefish and tarpon—lucky for me I've caught them all!
